Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan had a whale of a time hurling ripened tomatoes at each other during the shoot of their movie ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara‘ where they recerated the Tomato Festival. The movie had a sequence where Hrithik, Katrina, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar had to take part in the fun sequence.

Tomatina festival is celebrated in Spain every year where people celebrate by throwing ripened tomatoes at each other. This is equivalent to Holi in India where people splash colours on each other. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani had to call in for some 16 tonnes of tomato from Portugal as the tomatoes in Spain were not ripe. Katrina and Hrithik had a bash hurling tomatoes at each other along with the other members of the star cast.

Zoya Akhtar, the producer of the movie says that the residents in Bunyol were extremely sweet and and that they celebrated Tomatina twice – Once for Spain and once for India. Tomatina is supposed to be extremely useful in Spain where the used tomato was thrown into the fields as they were biodegradable.
